The Way To Everlasting Life

Thoughts On My Brother Ray

Thoughts Sublime

By distant bank a fire humped red ablaze
The brambles snatch, clutching, jealously plucking
Beneath heaven’s dark canopy colandered with stars,
Smoke pluming skywards, sparks mingling starwards
Stars and sparks wheeling whirling- Just a haze?

On Branston’s twin bridges stood we entwined;
Embracing, locked in the stillness of time.
While on bright waters lay reflected
Bridges fluorescent, street lamps incandescent
Shadows and light on frosty ripples Just a haze?

Nostrils filled with wood smoke odours,
Deep in your arms did I surrender?
Our reflection joined together flowing
Times remembered – just a haze?
Or memories transfixed forever glowing.
